Life Before Humans Appeared

What was life like for the animals before humans appeared on the earth?

I found the following on the website of Rhode Island vegan Awareness, where you can read the full article.

"Take a moment to imagine cows, pigs, chickens, and turkeys as they were before being held captive thousands of years ago. Imagine their freedom as they roamed the forests and wooded clearings of various continents, built families, slept comfortably in forests, raised young, and searched for food. Imagine their lives before setting eyes on human beings."

"Most of us grew up not thinking much about the animals we ate for dinner. If we did consider them, we most likely envisioned pastoral scenes of animals grazing, nursing their young, and sleeping comfortably with their companions. Today their short lives are filled with enormous suffering and deprivation; cruelty that is illegal if done to companion animals like cats and dogs. Farmed animals feel stress, loneliness, sadness, and joy, just as our companion animals do."

"I have no doubt that it is part of the destiny of the human race, in its gradual improvement, to leave off eating animals." - Henry David Thoreau
